“Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” [The Noble Qur’an 23:115]
Have you ever really thought about what you share on social media? What impact it is having on the viewers? Is it bringing good? Will it change them for the better? Our habits and interactions online say much about the state of our intellects as well as our Faith. This kind of reach is unprecedented throughout the history of this world and it can be a blessing if used to benefit others by lifting their spirits and Faith.
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and reason with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided. (The Noble Qur’an 16:125)
Do you know what one sincere share can mean? It can mean rewards coming to you from all corners of this giant planet at any moment of time without you even being aware. Imagine earning these blessings while you are sleeping and not actively doing anything to earn them? Imagine the beacon of light that will come your way on the Day of Judgment because of all the knowledge you spread and all the souls that it touched? Such a beautiful sight! This technology can bring so much good and it can spread the True Message of Islam all over the earth without journey or strife, Subhan’Allah.
“Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!” (The Noble Qur’an 15:3)
Our photographs, our life updates, discussions on the latest sporting events or games, our bragging about our latest vacation or achievement will not bring any benefit to anyone, but our sharing of our Deen, the Qur’an, the Message of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW, and beneficial knowledge will definitely benefit people and give us much blessings in our lives and in the Hereafter, Insha’Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: “Verily, what I fear most for you is the lesser idolatry.” And he elaborated, “It is showing off. Allah the Exalted will say to them (who show off), on the Day of Resurrection when the people are being rewarded for their deeds: Go to those whom you wished to show off in the world and look for your reward with them.” (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 23119)
If you believe that this is the Truth, if you believe that Allah is your Lord, if you believe that the Prophet Muhammad SAW was sent as a mercy to all of mankind, then spread the message of Islam and be true to what you believe. Your feed on these sites is your identity. Review it. Who are you?
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, “Indeed, I am of the Muslims.” (The Noble Qur’an 41:33)
If you have read this far, then that means you have read the entire passage. If you agree, then please share with your loved ones, so that they may also benefit, Insha’Allah. Jazakum’Allahu Khayran.
Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire” (The Noble Qur’an 3:191)
