We send down in the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe.” (The Noble Quran 17:82)

Every man and woman should know how to call on Allah for healing and protection from Jinn, magic, evil eye and anything that ails them or their family. In other words all believing men and women should know how to perform Ruqyah. A mother should know how to protect her children before they go to school or fall asleep, she should teach them the du’a to enter the toilet and the Ayah to read when they are fearful or sick, etc. A father, who is the head of his flock, should know how to perform Ruqyah so that he can safeguard his home, belongings and provide the vital protection to his family that is his Allah given duty.

It is also a good time to mention that Ruqyah alone cannot help you if you do not change your lifestyle to conform to that dictated by the Noble Quran and Sunnah. There may be things happening in your home that are less than halal or items which should not be kept in the house that may prevent the Mercy of Allah and His Angels from entering your home. These are illustrated clearly in Hadith and can include amulets or taweez, paintings of living creatures, dogs, photographs or statues and are not limited to even your children’s toys and pictures. All these things should be removed from the home or in the case of the child’s toys (think of things that have eyes like stuffed toys and dolls) put away in a toy chest so that they are not left out over a long period of time, Insha’Allah. Also, keep in mind that cleanliness is the mark of a pious Muslim, so please do make sure that your home is clean and well maintained without the noise of music and movies. Most importantly Quran recitation, your Prayers (Salah) and Du’a should be regular and with the utmost sincerity.

And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and be not divided among yourselves.” (The Noble Quran 3:103)
